I just saw your posting. I'm from Wisconsin. I was adopted back in 1960(I was 3 yrs old) I did (at one time) get information out of my adoption files. But before I was able to locate information on my birth father, my adoption records closed back up. I have reunited with some members of my birth family. Right now I been trying to locate information on my birth father but it seems no one is responding. I know very little about him. I'm not trying to locate him, I just want to know about him. I am 46 yrs old, I have 3 grown kids & 6 grandkids.
Can you help me???

Have you tried the addoption agency you were adopted through? Or the state program?

I was adopted theough the State Social Services & they refuse to give me any information

I did get information from my adoption files at one time but they got locked back up without notice.

I was born in wisconsin feb 21 1983 I have my birth cerficate but it has my adoptive parents names on it.I don't know a whole lot about my parents.i know i was born in LaCrosse wi at mercy hospital.thats about it.if you could help i would appreciate it. you can email me at seadoo31_18@yahoo.com

Can anyone search the birth index and is that where you would find the adoptee's parents name? Any help would be appericated.

my sons father was adopted and he would like to know about his birth partnets but his adoptive partnes will not give him any info on then. All we know is that his dad may possibly be native american. He was born on 9-14-80, in Dane county. Not sure of hospital or agency. We dont know where to look.

Where was your niece born and her birthdate?

My niece was born in Racine and her birthdate is Feb. 9th, 1980. My sister gave her the name Heather. Not sure if that will help you or not.

I'm looking for my niece too and Her given name was/is Heather Joan. She was born in Kenosha on March 22, 1977.

I checked with the search program in wisconsin & they want a $25.00 processing fee plus $75.00 per hour to do the search. Which I don't think that it's fair because they'll just give me the same information that I already have. They said that if my birthfather didn't sign a release form before I was adopted that they'll have to locate him to get his permission. I informed them that I don't want to locate him, I also informed them that I was able to get some information out of my adoption file once before for free & that I have met some members of my birth family already. I just want simple information on my birthfather without having to locate him in case he doesn't want me to locate him. I've been told back in 1982 that my birthfather died, which I don't know if that is true or not! I have put alot of postings out on the internet just looking for information on him but it's like as if no one knows him! Now where do I go????
Is there someone out there who can help me?????
