My name is Dawn Denise (Willingham) Welsh. I have reason to believe that I was adopted as an infant.

About a year ago, my mother received a call from the wife of a man who believed that my parents had adopted his biological sister. My mother denied everything, hung up on the women, and waited to tell me about two months after the fact.

There's been a recent death in my family, and the issue of my birth history came up in a conversation with a cousin, and he confirmed that he had "heard things over the years."

I doubt if I'll ever hear the truth from my mother; therefore, asking her is pretty much out of the question. So, I'm on my own, and I'm not sure where to begin.
