Hello everyone I am a new member to this site and I just wanted to introduce myself. I am a adult adoptee that is currently looking for any biological family members that may be around. I was adopted at the age of five and adopted through this adoption agency. My birth mother died before I got adopted but I was already in foster care before she died anyhow. I am currently trying to look for where she was possible buried but its hard with a closed adoption and very limited information. I know her name name (might have the spelling wrong), the age she was when she gave birth and my birth father name and age is was when I was born.

Its very hard searching and then gettng no results but I have not given up yet and even though I may take a break here and there, I do get back up and try again. One positive thing about being adopted was that I was adopted with my two younger brothers. We all have the same birth mother but different birth fathers, and just recently one of my younger brothers expressed how much being adopted had bothered him through the years. I felt happy because I thought I was the only one that had felt this way all of these years.

I now have a family of my own. Three children and a wonderful husband and I still can't fully move on with my life and it's a very emotional rollercoaster. I hope to gain some good friendships, and advice from those who understand the emotional strain that adoption has on adoptees. Not that we are ungrateful but because we feel like a part of us is missing. Just having that chance to see someone who looks like you might be enough closure.

I am willing to take any advice on searching or tips that others have gone through to help them with their search and hopefully we can support each other because the outside world does not seem to understand our passion and reason for closure.

Its a pleasure to meet all of you

Welcome

Welcome to these forums. You are right, we are all here to support each other and lend a hand when we can help out, even if it is just a "keep your chin up" or "pat on the back". I wish you luck on your search. I have a web site that may help as death information is public. Free Directory of Obituaries and Obituary Resources by State at Obitlinkspage.com | Obituary Links Page

Since you know your mother's name, you may find something here.

Thumbs up Hi, I am new

Hi everyone. My name is melissa and my husband and I are thinking about adoption. We have 3 boys ages, 5,2, and 1. We both want a newborn baby girl. My husband wants to wait until our youngest gets out of dipers but I do agree with him but i'm also so excited I want to start this process today. I'm still looking at agencies in my state but the money is too high and we cant afford it. I'm also looking at grants but I cant really find any. Well I really want a newborn baby girl so I have my fingers crossed.
