New here.. hoping to find my birth mother, but so far no luck. I was born February 13, 1978 at Blodgett Hospital in Grand Rapids, Michigan, and adopted through the D.A. Blodgett agency there. I have the forms to send in to my state gov't to check and see about consent, but haven't been able to raise the $60 fee, so I'm checking everywhere else that I can think of. I have no information other than some generic things that were in a letter I got from the agency. My birth mother was 17 when I was born, and my birth father was a musician of some sort. I'm going to be 30 (gasp) in a couple of weeks.. and I want to find her before it's too late. I have waffled back and forth about searching at all, I want to know her, but I'm so so afraid that she won't want to know me. I finally decided I'd go through with it as much as I could, and hope for the best. So mom, if you're out there.. I'm here.

Thanks! I had found the site once before, and I think I even printed out the form, but I never sent it in. I will do that ASAP, and thank you so much for the reminder

I think of the searching and the reunion as a journey.. a wonderful mystical journey.. full of lots of joy and lots of pain..
But… I think we need to give ourselves permission to search.. and we need to set goals.. write them down.. work towards it.. Jackie |

Oh sweetheart,
I am so moved by your note. I think we birthmom's and children alike have the same concern about not being accepted. However, the almost certain future is more time not findng her and knowing her. Best of luck finding her. I wish you nothing but best. Keep the faith... Birthmom1971VA |

Update..
I did get my non-identifying information back from my state government finally. My birth mother was 20 when I was born, she was attending college here in Grand Rapids at the time. She had a brother who was 24 and a policeman.
Still looking for her, any information is more than welcome. Please send either a PM here or an email to asaradragon@gmail.com Thank you! |
