So, if you look at my previous threads I am wondering how far would you go? How hard did you fight in order to get answers. I was born in the Greenville area and KNOW that there was family here. So, I state that someone here in the town I live in, grew up in and am raising my family in KNOWS something. I mean can someone really Keep a child for 2 1/2 years and know one remember her disappearing. I am entertaining a thought of contacting a favorite local radio station and posting a challenge to them- Unlocking Greenville secrets and seeing if they would be willing to put my story out there without giving my personal info out. What do you think about using the media to get results?

I wouldn't use the media in their town if you know they live there. Post on registries, perhaps post a vague month and year in a local newspaper. Posting the exact birthday and any names that you have violates the child's right to privacy and could damage their own family relationships.

Register on all registries, then wait. Advertise month, year, gender in local newspaper while still respecting THEIR right to privacy. And, wait. You've waited this long to find the person-- now it's there turn to look when the time is right for THEM-- after you register/post some details.

Maybe they're not ready. Maybe they're not interested. There's too many maybes to include any names you have, specific details that would make it obvious to their family that the story was about them, etc. We all want instant results, but that doesn't meant that we should get them. Other people's lives are affected here-- you can only go so far to publicize yourself... while allowing them the right to privacy, time, space, and perhaps permanent isolation from their lives.

Be prepared for anything, and be respectful of their needs/life/privacy/timing/wishes. Good luck.
