info all blacked out, Agencys know who we are but we don't, Shame

I got my un-info today and almost all of it was blacked out, they blacked out all first and last names and locations and birth dates of parents everything. 3 pages of almost all black outs with a magic marker. It makes me mad that the people sitting there behind the desk know what you are trying to find out and will not tell you a thing. I bet they know who their parents are. they don't care. its all a money game to them. I had to pay $100.00 for the 3 page info, if you want to call it that and didn't learn a thing but alot of small things different that I had always thought to be something eles. like partly wrong info here, just like I suspected it would be. then the lady tells me that if I want the identifying info it will be $250.00 for that and that is not refondable if parents can't be found or if they don't want me to know the info about them or myself. it is all ashame here. this is something all people should know. we are like a puzzel with the peices missing. Don't know how or what to do now, they even had my name blacked out on the info sheet. you know they could at least leave first names all on there. what would that hurt. Thanks for listening.

Feeling your pain

My husband is searching for his birth Father. We have found his birth mother but she is of little help at this time. Even worse... she knows his fathers identification and we have a child with health issues and she wont help us by given us even his name!

The appalling thing is she believes herself to be a Christian person. (rolling of eyes)

I sympathize with your frustration and pray that doors will open for you soon.

Sounds like you need to talk to Bastard Nation.

I know how frustrating it is to receive the much awaited adoption papers only to find everything blacked out! It was almost comical - I tried using magnifying glasses, holding it up to the light - just about everything I thought would let me "see" into my past. I too thought of the many people who were allowed to know who I am except ME! It is not right at all. I wonder how these people would feel if the situation was reversed. Others just don't seem to understand what we adoptees go through!
Thankfully, my story did not end with the blacked out papers. I have been reunited with my birth family for a few years now. It is wonderful and one of the most meaningful things that has happened in my life. But I still have a mystery that obtaining the unblackened version of my papers did not solve. And that is who my bdad is. So I remain very frustrated in that respect.
I hope that someday all of us will solve our personal mysteries.
Best wishes to you.
Hugs
