Long time, no hear Virginians
No action on the Virginia board in a while. Just thought I'd say "hi" to any other Virginians out there. We're in No. VA (Arlington) and are waiting. I'm amusing myself on the boards until the day (Nov. 11) comes.

12/99 - Married DH  10/00 - Found out about fertility issues and started treatment  04/02 - Decided we were OK child-free  12/08 - Decided we were not OK child-free  3/09 - Started working with adoption organization  4/09 - Completed the home study  Waiting for a match...  8/4/09 - Matched! Baby due 11/11/09  10/22/09 - DS born 3 weeks early - 5 lbs., 11 oz. - tiny, but healthy!

I was wondering if any Virginians go online! We recently stopped pursuing independent domestic adoption and are focusing on foster care. However, our current lead is from our time pursuing private adoption. He's 16 months now, and we're trying to stay positive to see how this unravels. We met both parents, who are now ready to make an adoption plan. Parental rights have not yet been terminated, so they still have a say. However, DSS is involved, so who knows how that will play out.
Meanwhile, our 8 month old FD is keeping us happily busy, as are our two poor jealous beagles

Dec 11 ~ Baby V's disposition hearing ~~~~ Lil Guy November '08 ~ meet w/ gma but don't pursue July '09 ~ contact SW but unresponsive November 5, '09 ~ meet w/ parents, want to place w/ us, GAL thinks it can work, DSS disagrees November 23, '09 ~ TPR continued until February February 9, '10 ~ permanency hearing ~~~Are we adopting him? Are we not adopting him? Can we please get a straight answer!?~~~

I'm in Virginia (Martinsville). We are doing foster/adopt. Will be licensed in one week. Process has been great and short for us. Can't wait to have kids in our home.
