Waiting Children website for VA?
Try to make this short, lol...
I was at the doctor's office yesterday getting a physical to complete the homestudy's medical form, and two nurses started talking to me about a little 13-month old boy who is in the care of a foster mom who happens to be another nurse in the hospital. Apparently he's been in foster care since birth, and his birth mother was a teenager, and that his foster mom doesn't intend to adopt him. Told me his name and said that there was a profile of this little boy on the web. I'm going back tomorrow to pick up my form, so I know I'll be asking for more details tomorrow. BUT, in the meantime I've been searching the web for sites with waiting children in the VA foster care system, and cannot find any little boy who matches this description, much less any child under the age of 4, for that matter. Can anyone recommend some sites that I may have better luck with? Like I said, I know I'll be getting the answer tomorrow (hopefully!) but impatience is getting the better of me! TIA! Amanda |

Nothing, unfortunately; I talked to the nurse and she said she didn't know any more information than what she had told me, but that she'd get more information and call me.
Heard nothing, then went in today to pick up one last paper, but when I asked to speak to the nurse, she was busy with another patient. So.... ![]() I guess at this point I need to go down to SS and look at the AREVA book, and see if I spy any toddlers named Justin? Thanks for thinking of me! Amanda |

the Areava Book
isn't updates much and doesn't have all the kids in it....
The state says it averages just under 2,000 children each month waiting for adoption...(not a new 2,00 each month, but some of them waiting and waiting) One thing that some people I know have done is make like a cover page resume of your family and a photosheet, nothing too expensive, and send it to ever public agency in the state and some of the private ones like the Children's Home, etc... and sometimes you will be more activity that way.... |
