I have completed my search through the Goochland County of Social Services. They were very nice and helpful and I believe did some extensive searching, but came up with nothing.

I was born Louise Ruth Bishop on 11/26/71 at MCV in Richmond. My birthmother name is blacked out on my information (I have all non id information).

They said that they traced her all the way down to Mexico and then ran out of information. Apparently records from that time are archived somewhere and no longer available as well.

What kills me is that I was talking to the social worker who was helping me and she has my mother's name on a paper in front of her and she couldn't tell me what it was! 35 years have passed, and I am running out of time. She was obviously distressed that she couldn't disclose that information either, but I could have reached through the phone and picked it up! That's the only piece of information I wanted that I don't already have!

It makes me cry.
