Hospital name

Does anyone know if a hospital called "Dixie Hospital" in Hampton Va really exist or existed? I was born in 1966 in that hospital.

My brother was born there, can I ask who was the physician that delivered you? Was it David Skloff? We were adopted my same lawyers and delivered by same drs but in different hospitals. It was grey market adoption.

Either the hospital name "Dixie Hospital" never existed or maybe it changed names. I have no way to find out.The doctor that is on the birth cert. is B.E. Hunt. I was born in VA but somehow ended up in a catholic orpange in Erie PA called St. Joseph home. Most records were destroyed because of a fire that occurred years later. How did you find out that your adoption was a gray adoption?

Hi,

Actually me, my brother and 2 other family members were adopted using the same drs and lawyers. It was a set up. When I turned 18 I demanded my adoption papers from my adoptive parents and have been searching ever since spent thoud=sands on private eyes. But found the one lawyer the other lawyer and dr died. You have to look it up by the address not name.
We were all born in VA and adopted in NY. It was a scam that one dr and lawyer had set up with the lawyer in NY. They were cousins by marriage.

You were born the same time as my brother in that hospital. Did you trry and find the dr who delivered you. Mine died 1977. No help there. As for the grey market thing. It was all private and very shady. Both me my brother and my moms cousins were all adopted the same way. Weird. By the same dr and lawyers. All in different years. What are those chances. all adopted in VA and brought to NY.

I just found out that the city on my birth recorded might be wrong. I found out dixie hospital is actully Sentara Norforlk General. So i was born in Norfolk and not in Hampton.

hi , my name is denise , im from the newport news / smithfield va area . at one time there was a dixie hospital in hampton/newportnews area , my moms best friend had both of her sons there.just thought i would pass it on.....i think it was later named hampton general.
