Hello, I was born April 3, 1936. Lucille Carroll is listed as My birth Mother on my birth certificate. I know my father he and his wife raised me. It said she was born in Roanoke Va. abour 1914-16. She was married at the time and had 3 small children. It said that Carroll was her Maiden name on the Certificate. I have not found her in census.Shirley Anne Moore Brazen

Northern Virginia is about 5 1/2 hours away from me and I don't have any plans to head in that direction anytime soon.

As for Roanoke, since it's a lot closer, I'll keep the request in mind for next time I head in that direction. It's rare that I go there during the week, but I'll keep you in mind next time I go that way.

Was wondering if u ever get to portsmouth Virginia ?? I was born on the navy base May 20, 1974 , but adopted in the state of Missouri. Certainly try everything, but from my own experience if your birth mother had planned on putting you up for adoption it most likely will not be in a paper. Also alot of newspapers in Va. did not print birth anouncements. Now there could be a legal notice pertaining to the legality of the adoption.
Also the military keep better records than civilians, try that route

I am currently conducting a search for my birth parents through Danville Social Services. This could take some time, and while I am waiting, I would like to obtain my medical history. How would I go about doing this? I was born at Danville Memorial Hospital, January 23, 1972. My adoptive name is Rachel Via.
