There is a Buddhist saying about adoption...
It basically says you and your husband must have loved your baby very much in your previous life, that you were able to find her again in this life.

We have had our I600 approval for almost 2 mos. now and still haven't traveled to get our ds.
Our province is WAY TOO SLOW and we are still waiting on a letter of invitation from them for our G & R ceremony.
SO SAD!

Well as you know Sue! I am literally down to anyday now I should be hearing something about Sam. I am hoping that it happens before the cut off date and being the crazed woman that I am now I have my phone tightly cluched in my hand urging it to ring.

no more referrals

our agency announced via conference call today that the 30 or so families that do not have referrals won't get referrals before the cut off date. We missed the July 1st date by just a few days waiting for our I 171. So this news changes nothing for us, but my heart goes out to those who still thought there might be a chance.

furrybluemom,

Did your agency mention anything about special needs adoption possibly continuing?

They mentioned it, but had no clear answer one way or the other. They did describe what was considered special needs in detail and it isn't even close to what our domestically adopted special needs sons are like.

We just got home Saturday with DS. The tone in country is not real optimistic. In fact the official at our ceremony made a point of saying in his speech how he feels the US is acting improperly and that he wished they would be more open.
