Referral Letter
Hi,
I don't know if you know, but Dr. Long now has to write a letter for each referral to make the referral official. I swear this government just keeps creating hoops.

We adopted in 2007 and this was one of the steps. The DIA had to issue a letter formally offering the referral to the family. With our agency, our acceptance papers were completed and sent to Vietnam as soon as the referral was offered to us, then once a few more steps had been completed (verifications with the orphanage and local justice officials), the DIA wrote the official referral letter and requested that our agency's Vietnam staff members forward our acceptance papers.
This isn't a new requirement - it just has more importance for PAPs because of the Sept 1st deadline.
