Hi,
For all of you that have received a referral, would you mind telling me what types of health information you received with the referral. Will you get measurements, and do they do blood tests?
Do you get periodic updates?

We received height and weight at admission to the hospital and test results (HIV, Hep B & C, and a couple of others that I can't remember). We did receive periodic updates - every 6 weeks or so. Our agency requests these through their staff in Vietnam. I'm not sure what other agencies do.

If Vietnam remains open and you move forward, I'd highly recommend working with an agency that has had long-term support agreements with orphanages. This is just my opinion, but from what I've seen, orphanages who have been supported since before the last shudown are cleaner, have more modern conveniences, and the babies have access to regular medical care.

There are several agencies with an excellent history of humanitarian aid in Vietnam. I'll pm you with my agency and a couple of others. In general, any agency that stayed through the last shutdown should be able to tell you what kinds of support they provided (and still provide).
