Vietnam Closure

Has anyone else had news from thier agency stating that the MOU is NOT going to be re-newed?

Also, we were told that the definition of a "waiting parent" has yet to be defined and families DTV (but without a referral) may also be allowed to complete thier adoption. Depending on the upcoming definition by IAD.

Anyone been told the same?

Hi! I have not been told what you say by my agency, but I have read it on more than one, I think credible, place on the internet. What a mess! I am feeling a bit stressed about the whole thing and wondering what to do... I guess I am not alone in this! :-) Just waiting to see what, if anything, they come up with in the near future....

I don't think any of the agencies actually KNOW at this point what will happen in September. Until the U.S. and Vietnamese govts. make official statements about what the definition of "in-process" will be, whether they'll allow people to complete adoptions, etc. the agencies are as much in the dark as the rest of us.

I usually know what is going on, but this time I do not. There has been no official statement from the Vietnamese, so everyone is in the dark. There is a US delegation in Vietnam at the moment, the word is that progress has been made, God only knows what that means.
