We have received our I-171H, it is currently at the consulate in SF. We hope to be DTV within the next few weeks.

So how long has everyone been waiting for their referral so far? For me it has been 7 months since dossier was logged (10 months since dossier arrived in Vietnam).

Hi! I am totally confused by the long waits after log-in. Our agency quoted us a much faster process and I don't know what to think. Is this a thing that varies by agency or what? We have a son and our requesting a little girl, as young as possible. I am getting nervous about the wait! On another note, our home study is today! And we got the letter to go get fingerprinted yesterday, so we are moving (slowly!) Hope everyone has a happy derby day/cinco de mayo!

Bonnie, it does vary by agency. Some agencies only use one orphanage where others use 4, 5, and 6. The more orphanages the more babies available for referral. But when I was researching every agency but one said the wait for a girl is longer. So you may have a little longer wait. HTH!

Bonnie, didn't mean to get you nervous about waiting times. I was just wondering how long others have been waiting to see if our waiting time sounds normal.

Also don't forget that with a pilot program such as Vietnam, procedures are still being fine tuned. I am not exactly sure how far along you are in your process, but I believe over time the waiting times will improve and stabilize.

We've been waiting almost 5 months and our agency quotes 6-9 months before the referral of a girl. We're currently #5 on the list and the family that just received a referral waiting almost 8 months. I'm trying to be patient!
