Fingerprinting twice??

We had to get fingerprinted for our home study. We are still waiting for them to go through. (praying they dont get sent back) Then, I noticed as I was getting my I-600A ready that we need to be fingerprinted again? It doesnt make sense as to why they cant just obtain the first set of fingerprints that we've done.

Because no two gov't entities talk to each other. LOL I thought the same thing about the fingerprinting.

I don't remember having needed fingerprints for the homestudy. I wonder if this is different from state to state, or the homestudy requirements changed.

Jaimie - The fingerprinting for the HS is for a child abuse clearance.

The fingerprinting for the I600A is totally separate. It is for the Dept. of Homeland Security - the federal government.

Hope this helps.

Three Times!

Our HS social worker had us do two sets of fingerprints -- one for the state of IL and one FBI record check. Then we also had to do the fingerprints for USCIS -- at a place over an hour away... but at least they were super fast and very frendly there.
