Age?
My husband and I are childless and would prefer to adopt an infant (the younger, the better). We are still in the process of choosing a country and agency. If you request an infant from Vietnam (we lean toward wanting a boy), how young are they usually at the time of referral? Also how long does it usually take from referral to travel?
Thanks in advance for any responses! |

I think at this time, they don't really know the "typical" age--the first referrals are just now coming home. From what I've read, boys are more readily available than girls, and it seems to be an average of 4 months between referral and travel. I'm on a few yahoo adoption groups, and the Vietnamese babies coming home seem to be between 6 months and 11 months old at time of travel...

I have seen a very similar timeframe. Boys seem to be matched more quickly.
