Walk me thru the process.
After a very long night, quite the scare, a few anxiety attacks.... My husband and I are having our homestudy updated to VietNam.

After the 171H, and the certifying and authenticating documents, what are the next steps to adopting from VietNam?

Do we need to bring 3 yrs back taxes with us on our pick up trip?

At this point in time, which agencies are working the fastest?

Before you have your homestudy updated you need to pick an agency and get all the details on WHAT needs to be changed in your homestudy. After you have all your paperwork done, then your dossier goes to be translated and this submitted to the VN adoption office. And from there it seems like one of 2 things are happening.
#1: Your agency is picking a child from their orphanage and submitting that child to the government to be referred to YOU specificly.

OR

#2: Your agency refers you to the next child from one of their orphanges that has already been approved by the VN office that meets your requests as to gender/age/health.

Remember that we can not discuss agencies on the forums, but we can via PM, so I am PMing you with the names of the agencies that seem to be moving the quickest.

I would strongly suggest that you join the yahoo group for VN adoptions it is a very active group with LOTS of parents who have already adopted from VN in past years, as well as people who are in the process right now. I believe that several already have children home as well!

Hi Why are you changing? Were you going with Guatemala first? are you worried about the upcoming hague mess? we have a son we adopted from Gautemala in 2003..so been there..how bout you? looking into Vietnam also.....Cath`

Could you PM me as well with the agencies?

We are finishing our adoption of two boys from Guatemala and want to begin researching our next country to adopt from. Vietnam was on our list before we went to Guatemala.

Any tips you can give us would be appreciated? We learned the hard way with our adoption from Guatemala and want to go through an easier time "if God truly is leading us to adopt again."
