Christi-
My advice to you is to take another pregnancy test. I am sure that there is a pregnancy crisis center in your area. You can probably find it in the phonebook. They will have a lot of good resources for your options if you are pregnant and can help you decide what you want to do. They can also point in you in the direction of different adoption agencies/attorneys if you decide to look at adoption. Take care, Erin

Christi,
What state are you in? Are you still in school? Do you have a teacher or conselor there you could talk to? A friend's mom that you trust that you could talk to? A pastor? You mom might be angry at first, but she may very well be a source of support you haven't considered. Please talk to an adult you trust who could maybe help you approach your mother. This must be a difficult time for you, but you are not alone. If nothing else, the adoption forums are full of people on all sides of the issue and can be a tremendous source of help and support. Good luck to you and please don't be afraid to ask us for help.

Christi,
I can not say that I have ever been in your shoes. I wish you luck in finding someone to talk with and let GOD be your guide. There are many people out there that are willing and able to help. Make sure that you do not do this alone. Confide in someone and let them be there with you. GOOD LUCK!!!!!! cc

Hi Christi! I see you are a fellow Jersey girl. I am in Morris County, but grew up in Passaic County. Glad things turned out OK.

Funny, but I just realized I don't think I've ever heard anyone mention birth control on this forum . . . it must be somewhere. But as an old birth mother, I'd advise looking into it if you're in a serious relationship, even if you don't intend for it to be sexual yet. IMO the repercussions of an unwanted pregnancy are way too serious not to take precautions.

I agree with maryjanek. Get birth control for both yourself and your partner. Any guy who won't use a condom is not the kind of guy you want to be having sex with. There is more than pregnancy to be concerned about HIV is on the rise among teen-agers, as is a wide variety of STDs.
I am glad you are not pregnant.

Hi. Im Jennie. I am 15. I am not pregnant and i wont be until after i am married but I like helpeing people so here it goes:
EPT really means error proof test, which is completely untrue. The only error proof test is at the hospital. Think about it: you can buy something at the supermarket that tells you if you're pregnat. I wouldn't trust it. Go to the hospital. Its tough fro girls because we have to worry about getting pregnant. Guys never have to wrry about it. Sit down and talk about it with him. But if it comes down to adoption or abortion, choose life! I pray that everything may go well! |

I was pregnant at the age of 15, and I can't begin to tell you how many EPT tests I've taken in my life from the supermarket. Granted, it's true that they can't always be trusted, but in my experience, it's never been wrong.

Planned parenthood is a great resource to get birth control anonymously. They will educate you not only in preventing pregnancy, but also in preventing diseases. It's much better to prevent a pregnancy or disease than to have to deal with that. Of course, the only birth control method and 100% guarantee not to get diseases is abstinence.
If you're in the situation of facing an unexpected pregnancy, it's important that you talk to someone who will give you all the options, parenting, adoption and abortion so that you can make an informed decision without anyone pressuring you. Good luck. |
