Dealing with Family and Friends

Just recently, I had to face my family and friends to tell them I was making an adoption plan for the second time....

My family instantly belittled me, and I realized... perhaps my family wasn't the best people to be telling, however they needed to know. So I sat them down and explained exactly why I was making my choice, and that no matter what, I was standing by my choice.

My friends were another story. Most of them had stood by me during my first adoption, and were willing to stand by me again. A few were critical... but not many.

During the pregnancy though, I met up with BirthMomBuds, and gained even more friends who were even more supportive because they were JUST LIKE ME! *Thanks Coley*

so... regardless, I think it's good not ta hide it from family/friends, but just let them know the reasons why and make them understand you're firm in your decision.

My mom and sisters only found out, because the hospital I was supposed to be having a privacy pact with , sent the bill to my house. I could've won a large settlement for that. My mom and sisters were so happy I had chosen adoption, because they thought I had been to an abortion clinic. I had kept that I was pregnant from them until my 7th month....that's when they started to notice, but I never told them. They are always excited to hear news of my baby girl. My boyfriend's mother, however, has no clue about any of it, and that's where I spend most of my time outside of school. It's best for her not to know right now.
