1970 birth stories

I am an adult adoptee. I have searched for my birth mother, she died when I was 8. I would love to know what her life would have been like. If birth mothers who had children in the 1970s in Britain would like to share their birth stories I would be delighted.

I am working on a piece of fiction just now and may use some details there. In particular I would love to know what care care an unmarried mother would receive, would she be treated differently? Would she give birth in a hospital or at home. What pain relief, if any would be on offer.

If I anyone can help I would be very grateful. Please email me or post here.
