Looking for my Real Father

Hi All
i just found this forum and am a little excited, i have always thought about finding my real father or at least knowing who he was, its amazing how big a void is created by having that knowledge missing, anyway, the older i get the more questions i have, so if anyone can help please please please do so, this is driving me mental

my name is michael charles mario mackinnon, born 7th sept 1963 in a place called hull, i was taken from my mother willemina mackinnon and adopted by my grandmother marion alicia thornton braithwaite/pearson

thats all i can remember at this time, please help

Hi Michael

Which part of the United Kingdom were you adopted in, the different countries in the UK have different laws and regulations on access to adoption info? Have you got your OBC From the Registrar in Hull or from the General Register Office? Does it have a name on it for your father? Have you had your records from the Social Services where you were adopted,( if they were involved)? How about the Court that you were adopted at do you have the records from there? All of those records might say more about your father.

You can see from my thread on this forum re Peter Williams, that its not an easy business if your father isn't named on your OBC.

sadly my father isnt named on the OBC, and nobody in my family claims to know anything, but thankyou for the reply

You'll need access to other records to have any chance of finding him in that case,

No mention of my father on my OBC but not difficult to find from other records, deceased but there was story to go with him.
