I am still seeking anyone who has the name Peter Thomas Williams mentioned in their adoption file. I believe his full name was Peter Thomas Douglas Williams and that he was born on the 3rd of March 1927 at 415 Romford Rd, Forest Gate, West Ham (County Borough as it then was) in the UK. His family later moved to Harold Hill/ Romford, Essex. Peter was said to have worked as a "Wall of Death Motor Cyclist at the Kursaal in Southend-on-Sea, Essex in the early 1950s. Peter also worked at various times as a "Motor Lorry Driver (Contractors)" and as a "Delivery Van Driver". I believe he died on the 7th of January 1982 at Westminster Hospital, London.

I wanted to bring this back to the top, as I have learnt that Peter had several children who he lost touch with, some adopted others probably not.

What a shame that I have to do things this way, because Barnardos (was Dr Barnardo's Homes) is so utterly useless a fulfilling its obligations to its ex charges.

How on earth do Barnardo's have the sheer gall to make the claims that they do is way beyond my comprehension. See

I have some names now from sources outside of Barnardos for the people who may be in the position of having Peter mentioned in their records, but who may not have been adopted.

Two possible surnames involved, 4 children, it does seem possible that one at least was adopted.

Barnardo's behaviour as an adoption support agency continues to be absolutely appalling. Still pretending not to have records that were read to me by staff who have since left the agency.

I am left entirely without any 'adoption support agency' support for this search, how can that be allowed to happen, Barnardo's Family Connections UK has some audacity to call itself an Adoption Support Agency!

But how do you do that when your Adoption Support Agency is as useless as Barnardo's Family Connections UK?


They aren't as good as they'd like you to think, they never have been, you could easily find yourself left without a service, right in the middle your search. Barnardos Family Connections used to be called Barnardo's Counselling Services Project, it hasn't improved much for changing its name.

The reality is that Barnardo's in England & Wales main policy is as always, 'keep our backsides covered', the individual lives of past clients and their families comes a poor second or lower priority.
