I am trying to find my moms child. She was raised in Greenfield Orphange in Billinge England untill she was 12 years old. When she got out she got pregnant and had the baby when she turned 13.(1955) She cant remember the month or date on which she had the baby all she remembers is that it was cold out the time, and she gave birth at Wigan Infermery.They took the baby from her at birth because she was so young. Her name at the time of birth was Kathleen Mary Gizzie, Born Jan.13 1942. They told her she had a boy but when i contacted the family finders they cant seem to find a boy born in that year with last name Gizzie but they found a Carol Gizzi (no e) registered in the March quarter 1955. They said they might of told her she had a boy so she couldnt look for the child. I have done a search on Carol Gizzi and her last name is now Mayhew in greater London. If anyone knows anything please let me know we have been searching for many, many years but have no luck. Thank you.

hi Robin I talked to the people at birth certificate place and they told me that only the last name will of been recorded and the gizzi family is a big one so i dont know what else to do.

The person at "the birth cirtificate place" is an idiot.

You need to buy Carol Gizzi's birth certificate to see if she was adopted or not. If she was it will say so on her original birth certificate in the right-hand margin.

If she was adopted then it is probably the birth you are looking for.

Her name will probably have been changed when she was adopted, so if she was adopted it isn't very likely to be the same Carol Gizzi who married Mr Mayhew. Gizzi is a common name in much of the world.
