Date set for Implementation of the Adoption & Children Act
The Children's Minister has sets dates for the Implementation of the Adoption & Children Act 2002 see
http://www.children.doh.gov.uk/adop...mplementact.htm Still nothing on the Access to Information Regulations or Adoption Support: Phase Two and Adoption Support Agencies. The adoption support agencies will deal with adults requests for access to information. Hopefully all will be in place by end of 2005 including the provision for birthmothers and other relatives to ask adoption support agencies to search for adoptees and asertain their wishes re contact. It is also still unclear whether it is the governments intention to make it illegal for anyone who is not part of a authorised adoption support agency to offer advice and councelling, including on internet sites such as this forum Robin Last edited by Robin Harritt : 03-04-2004 at 09:05 AM.
