Unhappy going home

This is what we know from here:
We have been told that there is a resolution filed to try to get the new ministry to sign off on the adoptions in process right now. However, it is unlikely that this will be passed until after Jan 26th. We have decided that we will go back home and wait out the time rather than stay here in Kramatorsk. There is too much uncertainty right now and we have already experienced how long it can take for things to be resolved from our time here in 2001.
Hopefully it won't be too long before we can come back for our court date. Until that time, we will be home with Ben and can get ourselves organized for our new family.
Thanks to everyone for your support over the past couple of weeks

Jane

Jane,

I am sorry you are stuck with the change over. You are doing the right thing by waiting it out at home. My agency said that many people were coming home now to wait and see when things start rolling again over there. I saw the pictures of your kids and they are beautiful! The tough part is over, you found them. Get their rooms ready and before you know it you will be on your way back to bring them home!!

Jane, Our hearts go out to you and we feel your disappointment. It is amazing to hear your postive attitude, keep your chin up. We all know too well, patience is a virtue that pays off, especially when it comes to adoptions. Our best to you during your long heart-breaking wait!!

Jane, I am sorry to hear about your delay. I hope the time goes quickly. They are beautiful children and we all wish you well. We are all here for you on line for all your emotional support. I can't imagine what you are going through but it seems you have made a smart decision to wait at home with Ben. Best of luck and we all wish you well.

We are going back to KIev on the train tonight. We have a flight back to St Louis on Friday. There are 6 families here that our facilitators are working with, we are all going back home to wait out the changes.

We have not seen any other families visiting children in either orphanage at Kramatorsk, things are very quiet over here right now.

We have been told that we might get a court date at the end of January, but we'll just have to see how long it really takes. We have said goodbye to our children. Daniel took it very well and of course Maggie doesn't have any idea what is going on. We had just got them used to us and we have to leave. We have been assured that all of the families that have chosen children will be able to complete their adoptions, it's just a case of waiting until someone at the NAC has the authority to sign our paperwork.

Jane ,

I am glad that the children took it well, that must make it somewhat easier. The people in Ukraine make it sound like the adoptions will happened, but not sure how long it will take. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers that it all happens very soon.

Jane:

I am really sorry that you are having to go through all of this. This is actually my first time posting but I have been following your story for months. We are suppose to leave on 13 Jan for an appointment at the NAC on 16 Jan and are really concerned that we maybe in the same situation as you....I know this is a difficult time right now for you and we will be praying for a speedy return for you to get your adorable children. If you get a chance...I would love to talk to you. I can send you my personal email address. Thanks Jane!!!

Jane,

I'm so sorry. I can't even begin to imagine what you're going through right now. Hopefully the Ukraine government will get their act together quickly and you'll be bringing your children home soon.

Angie

Wink

Jane,
I am so sorry to hear you will be returning home. My husband and I had our Dossier delivered by hand to Kiev the end of December. We do not know what this means for us now.... If anyone has new info I would really appreciate it... We are considering changing countries.... But our hearts are in The Ukraine, so we just do not know what to do....

God Bless,
Cinnamon

According to our agency, Ukraine will be operting under the NAC until May. Of course, there still is the problem of allowing U.S. adoptions due to the post placement reports that families have not filed. We are fortunate because we are an exception. We are trying to adopt our childrens sibling and she is also over 10. There are exceptions to U.S. adoptions, over 10, part of a sibling group and special needs children. Ever consdier adopting a sibling group? This may increase your chances of being able to adopt with Ukraine in a timely manne. We adopted siblings back in '04 (age 6 & 7) and it was a great experience and, of course, we do not regret the decision to adopt older. Our best to you and please do not lose hope or give up, it is worth the wait!

Was wondering if anyone has heard from Jane??? Just wanted to see how things are going for her. Wanted to see if she knows when she will be returning to the Ukraine to adopt her two children. She is in our thoughts and prayers.
