leaving on Sunday

OK, I have been making packing lists for weeks, but I'm sure I am going to forget something. Any suggestions for what I've forgotten to pack and can't live without?

Jane

Jane,
I will be keeping you in my prayers that you find your little one over there and that you have a safe trip! I have not gone yet, but I have been reading up on what people think is essential. How about:
toilet paper, fabric softener(not many dryers over there and clothes get stiff),hand and foot warmers from a ski shop(packets that keep you warm 8 hours...in case the car has no heat),anti bacterial gel, cold meds, tylenol, pepto, coffee, tea, crackers, lots of small packs of tissues, flash light and extra batteries, small toys for child, bubbles, waterproof and warm boots., lots of socks, lots of dvd's, few books, small tool kit, duct tape,...this is a start. I will see if I can think of more and post them later. Good Luck!!!

I posted the question on the FRUA site about unusual things one might need. Some of the answers I got were safety pins (sheets on bed aren't always fitted), ziploc bags, pillow cases, wash cloth, sewing kit and extension cord. Someone even said they brought their Scrabble game, the board packed flat in the suitcase and they put the letters in a ziploc bag. Those were some of the things I thought were not things that you might readily think of. Good luck and God bless in your travels. We're still waiting for the appointment date, but hope to get it soon.

Cheryl

baby wipes...they fit perfectly in a qt ziplock freezer bag and have SOOO many uses. If you can find the anti-bacterial ones even better!

French Vanilla hot chocolate and instant favorite oatmeal...makes the most henious morning better and takes up very little space.

I was told by several people to take a clothes line to hang your clothes on to dry and some woolite. Also, take a hot pot, and a map of the airport. If you plan on shopping, you will need a tote bag or grocery sacks. They do not have them there. I was also told to take disposable gloves since you may be changing diapers and restrooms with soap are hard to find.

....after-thought....

Jane....if you require or use artificial sweetner as I do....you can take packets (etc)...
....grocery bags.....they are light/easy to pack and you will need them for anykind of shopping or even disposing of diapers in a much efficent manner.
Collapsible cup...doesn't take much space at all! You can purchase them at drug stores/or Walmart...

....and of course......squeeze some Patience....and Sanity....somewhere into you suitcase....in case of snow. sleet, or buracracy

Bon Voyage

There are some good suggestions here on the posts.

I wish to add that your own insights which you have shared on this forum have been valuable to our understanding of this process and the emotional struggles we have to deal with. I appreciate your helpful contributions to our cause and wish you all the best and safe travels.
