I think we are finally making progress but I am not really sure. Our dossier was submitted to NAC in July. In Sept. they notified our facilitor that we had to redo our police clearance, state level, because they did not like the paper it was printed on, saying they did not think it was an original. So back to our state capital and had that redone and resubmitted to NAC. We heard today from our facilitor that NAC has accepted all paperwork and assured him that they would move ahead quickly.
My question is what do they, (NAC) actually mean. What type of time frame are we now looking at in getting a letter of invitation from NAC? Everything I have read lately is so negative regarding NAC and time frames with them. As you all know, it is hard not putting your entire life on hold until that all important letter arrives. Thanks for any insight. Phyllis |

Congratulations
Phyllis,
Congratulations on your approval. Appointment dates vary based on each individuals situation but I'd think it would be a good bet to expect an appointment in 2005 most likely January to April. Just trying to ballpark it for you based on backlog for appointments right now at the NAC. Good luck with the adoption. As they say....God's timing is perfect. Cristin |

Thanks Cristin
Have you adopted from Ukraine or are you waiting to adopt. I am so hungry to hear stories and time lines from anyone. As I have mentioned this has been a long now 13 months of working and I am afraid to get my hopes up too soon. Phyllis |

Our dossier was sent out on June 17, 2004. Our medical forms had to be updated in September. About 3 week ago the new authenticated documents were sent again to the Ukraine. Our agency told us the NAC would give us an appointment date shortly after recieving the new documents.
We continue to wait for a call/date. I do not think it is wise to try to estimate a date (as I have tried uncussessfully months ago). Patience is the key to surviving this process and I would recommend that to anyone. We are preparing our travel VISA right now and anticipating that "letter" in the mail which will forever change our lives. |
