We are a bi cultural couple wanting to adopt in the Ukraine. I/m north amer and my husband is costa rican and we live in costa rica. I'm curious about if the requirements are the same for us as they are for an american couple. And do we need an amer visa (for child) to pass though US on our way back to CR with new child.
I have other questions too, if someone out there can help me. |

We are americans who live in Holland and adopted in Ukraine from here. We do know people who are bicultural and have adopted in Ukraine. You can use the american system as long as one of you is an american citizen. We did need to fly our child through the US in order to admit her to Holland but it depends on your own country requirements. There is a yahoo group americans expats adopting while living abroad that you might want to check out. I don't have the link off the top of my head but you can find it on my website http://americanexpat.blog-city.com
