Wink International adoption Costs under 20k

I am reading a lot of people indicating that overseas adoption cost 20k-30k...sometimes 15k.

My sister and her fellow church pastor are adopting for under 15k internationally, my sisters adoption is 10k with everything. This toddler is from Haiti.
Her pastor adopted a korean baby for 13k total, the baby was escorted to America.

Please, share the agencies/facilitators they are using for adoption. These are very low cost for international adoptions that I am sure other parents would be interested in.

Also, does this include the costs of homestudy, dossier documents and authentication, USCIS fees, and other non-agency fees? These usually add $3-5k to most international adoptions upfront.

It can be less costly to adopt older children and/or special needs children. Also, many countries seem to have increased their in-country fees in recent years, so a cost estimate from a few years ago might not be relevant.

I would also be curious as to whether these numbers include the cost of travel, as I expect travel to be as much as 1/3 of our adoption budget.

no charges from Ukraine

From my reading the Ukraine government themselves does not charge any substantive fees for adoption. Straight from the embassy web site is the following:

"According to Ukrainian adoption law, there are no fees except those for court filing, notarial, translation and similar services. The Embassy is not aware of any official fees to get court hearings expedited, adoption decrees issued, or to facilitate the waiver of the mandatory thirty day appeal period."

It is making me really wonder what I am paying for with our agency, Hope Cottage in Dallas. They want $12k, but do provide attorneys that act as translators and an apartment in Kiev....so we are still trying to figure it all out too...

The link is below for some interesting reading if you have not already been there.

Best wishes...and God Bless..
