We need a forum like this one in the UK!
Hi All
I'd just like to say to the moderators what a great forum this is! We dont have anything like this available in the UK. So come on Brits, back me up, and say, we need a forum like this in the UK! Collette

Moderators? What moderators?
There are a number of different fora in the UK (that I'm not allowed to mention here, because Adoption Media Inc's rather restricive terms of use). But a bit of searching with Google would find them.
Other than that yes of course this is a wonderful forum because of all of us wonderful people who contribute to it. And it is, I have always assumed, for the benifit UK as it's tittle suggests. Robin |

Thanks for your reply,
Moderators....I guess I meant the people that run/organise/developed this site, whatever they are called officially!! Yes, I know that this forum is for the British people too, as it has UK and Ireland Adoption section in it, but there are very rarely any british that use it. Is it because they dont know about it? I find it hard to believe that there are only a few british folk that are affected by the adoption/fostering subject. When I was looking for support and I typed in alltheweb, the main one that came up is this site. I am glad I found it, as there is lots of support and wonderful people on here. But wouldnt it be nice also, if we had one like this in the UK!! I'm rambling now! Collette

Adoption Support in the UK
We are an ordinary couple with two young adopted children, we thought exactly the same when we were in the process of adoption. There were no 'ordinary' people to speak to about the process and, although the Social workers were excellent, sometimes it needs a more personal view. Ruth often helps at the training sessions (via social services) to support local families who are going through the process.
We started a UK adoption support forum prior to discovering this board but I dont feel I can plug it here without being removed from this forum. Ruth & Phil Forever _ Family |
