Another new biracial baby!

Last night, my 22 YO son called and told me that my granddaughter, Ashlyn, is going to have a younger brother or sister! It was a surprise. They have had to work hard to make a home for their four year old daughter, work, and my daughter-in-law has been trying to get through nursing school. They have always wanted to have another baby, but were planning to wait until she gets through with school, in two years. But, the new baby will be a tremendous blessing, just like Ash has been!

This will be my third grandchild and they are all biracial. I just wanted to brag! I am posting a picture of the little cousins, from the other day.

Congrats! The children are beautiful.I'm not getting the biracial part.Does it mean there part black and white,or does it mean they have 2 different nationalities. Not that I wouldn't want a biracail child, but just curious.

I'm curious about their racial mix too, it's hard to tell by looking at them.

Thanks for all the replies! For some reason, my grandkids have both looked more white than black. My granddaughter is only a fourth black and the rest white, so it isn't real surprising with her. Her dad is black/white, although he looks more black than probably three-fourths of biracial people. Her eyes are that black-brown, and her skin is very dark for a blond, but the hair makes people think that she is just white. We really expected my grandson to look more black, because my youngest son, who is his father, is very dark. You can tell that he isn't just white, but it isn't real obvious. Maybe when his hair grows in, it will be. It isn't looking much like his dad's but obviously curly.

Biracial actually means two races, but I think, unless it is specified, it kind of implies black/white. I also have a biracial daughter who is black/Filipino. It looks like I might have some other biracial grandchildren one day who will be white/Hispanic, if my white daughter stays with her current boyfriend, whom I think more and more of all the time! I love having a multiracial family!

Thanks, Dr. Amanda! I think they are the cutest kids ever! Of course, their fathers were awfully cute, too!
