Resources / Mentors?
We're interviewing for a little who who is of a different race than us.
Can anyone offer some good resources to utilize for transracial adoptions? Online sources, magazines, books, etc. Also, should we be selected, I would like to have a mentor of the same race as her ... someone who wouldn't mind the silly questions about hair care, or skin care, etc. Is there a group that supports this? Thank you

If you're on FB one of my friends and I founded a support group called "The Color of Family"
Stick around here and you'll be in good company, adoption.com is an excellent place to come for just about any question I've ever needed and answer to! |

You can PM me at any time and I'll give you my e-mail address. We're also associated with "Color of Family". I am the CC mother of 4 black children and marrried to an outstanding black man who is an exceptional husband and father. We are lucky enough to have found an interracial families group that has allowed our children to spend time with other families that look like ours. But, as diverse as our area is, our children are very open to other adopted children in families that don't look like the average, and of kids from every race/culture.
