Interesting blog from TRA mom
I thought of the other thread by Flonkerton when I read this. I didn't want to hijack it further (sorry about that) so I'm starting a new thread. I thought this blog entry and the comments were interesting, though. It was written by what sounds like a very loving, thoughtful mom raising an AA daughter in Columbus. Not a place that lacks diversity, although it sounds like her community does. Anyway, here's the link. Thoughts?

Thank you for the link, OakShannon! I appreciate your measured, reasonable responses on the other thread, too. I think that we transracially adopting parents are fortunate that there is so much information now available from adult adoptees who have been sharing their experiences on blogs, books and in movies. We are lucky to be able to learn from them and we would be foolish not to take advantage of the resource.
And I'm also a big fan of PACT. ![]() Dawn

Dawn. Is. Awesome.
Beyond TRA - she is such an awesome voice for those who are involved in open adoption. Everyone should add her to your Google Reader/RSS Feed now.
