manequin for braiding practice

Has anyone gotten one of those heads with hair so you can practice hairstyles? I have no willing live victims right now so I'd like to get a manequin so I can perfect some of the styles or at least get proficient for future braiding or styling. I haven't really seen any around in stores and I HATE shopping on the internet. Any ideas?

You can get a toy Barbie head in the toy section of any Target or Wallmart. The hair is synthetic though, so it won't work as well. I wonder if you could buy one through your local beauty college.

Good luck,
Saj

Hey girl I'm a hairstylist (by trade) and I have several of those heads. You can get them at beauty supply store. they are come in all different hair textures too so u could get one with AA hair.

I have some here. I could send u one if you want?

I would go to a store and buy and not buy it online. I would do this because you want to find a head of hair that is going to be similar to your child's hair and you won't be able to tell that without touching it.

Good Luck...I hope to need one someday!

Awww, Supa, thanks so much! You are the best. But I think that'd be a pain to ship. I should be able to get one around here somewhere. I've been to a beauty supply store and they didn't have it, so I'll have to keep looking.
Ocracoke, you are right I should take a look at the thing first! Although it probably isn't super critical for it to be perfect it just has to have some hair on it!
I'll let you know when I find one and give the pros and cons!

If you dont find one seriously let me know. I have several and some with AA texture hair. I'm moving and most likely will throw them away anyways.

Also go to a beauty supply store that hairstylist go to. They would probably have them. Do have a Sally's beauty supply where u are? You might could get one from there but not sure with AA texture.

Anyways hit me up on FB if u decide u want mine
