We have switched churches, not religions. Great friends of ours have started a church in the North Atlanta area that is based on adoption and orphan care. We have several transracial adoptive families and are a diverse group. If anyone may be interested PM me and I can send you our website link.

The m/c's, the infertility, the waiting, the failed matches, it has all been worth it to have our beautiful baby S. She was meant to be ours we just had to wait for her to come along!

Black Catholics

In both Detroit and Columbus, Ohio, we have found black Catholic churches that are diverse, welcoming and with gospel choirs to knock your socks off. My DH is a black man, raised Catholic. I am a CC woman, also raised Catholic. If we had not found a diverse church of our own religion, we would have considered changing churches. We do, though, go into the "inner city" to attend our church as the Catholic church in our suburb is very "white bread" and was not the place of worship we were looking for. Besides, the choir was boring. Once we experienced a gospel choir, the blasse music of a traditional Catholic church put us to sleep. Hope you find the church that suits your family. It's wonderful to see our children sing in the choir and praise dance -- the way we happen to believe God is to be praised.
