Angry So we went to a Salon... (vent)

We have a special occasion, and I have an injury which prevents me from doing DD's hair. She's pretty tough about it, patient, not a tenderhead.

It was awful. Never again!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It has GOT to be possible to do cornrows without tears, doesn't it??? The lady's kid was there and said most young ones DO cry when they get it done

DD looks fantastic, but it was all I could do not to pull somebody else's hair!

what a morning.....

You have to be selective as to what salon you go to... Some people do cornrows or braids too tight. I have friends who are adults and they have to take pain meds for a couple of days to deal with tight braids. You can request looser braids or cornrows. The point of doing braids tight is to make it last longer. I'm for comfort over pain with kids.

I'm sorry that happened. Your poor little girl! I would have been angry, too! Especially since she is already very patient about having her hair done. Is there someone you can ask for a recommendation for a salon that is good with kids? The one I take David to is wonderful. They fuss over him and are very patient when he starts doing gymnastics in the chair. (He's a toddler.) It's very kid friendly. Maybe a friend can recommend someplace better for next time?
