I'm debating on whether I should take DD down to the Dominican's this weekend for a wash and set. Twenty dollars... You might want look for one of those places. It will be a change from the braiding salon. They usually advertise as a Dominican salon and have a sign saying they do afro american hair.

Sleep, I can't find too many places that do hair at her age. Now she just turned four so that may make a difference. There is an AA hair salon down the street from me that I have not been to before. I may ask them what they charge. It normally takes a LONG time to do her hair and so with the tip and hair braiding put together I usually spend between 50 to 80 bucks.

If her hair were longer in the back, I'm sure I could do a good job myself but my fingers just can't keep those small hairs together when I'm trying to braid. It's so frustrating.

My DD is 4 years old too. The reason why I was considering the Dominican salon is that they will get her in and out rather quickly. A lot of folks down here are switching to the Dominican salons because of the low cost and speed of services. You just have to avoid the ones who push chemical services if you are not interested in that.

The ladies I went to were Hatian I believe. They told me never to use chemicals in her hair. Sadly though, I would have paid anything to have her hair done nicely like that. And now when I drove by last week it looks like they are no longer in business there. I had not had it braided because of the summer wear and tear on the hair in the pool and all. Now I wanted to have her hair done for her bday party this weekend and there is a different business there now.

I may have to call my old daycare provider and see if she would do her hair. I tried twists the other day and it looked horrible. Either she does not have the right type of hair for twists or I can twist for anything. LOL!
