OK I missed the boat twice.
With your description she sounds like her hair is similar to DD's hair. I think the only difference may be is DD's hair is very thick. My BFriend would ask on occasion just how long I wanted it to get. I kept going until it got too much for both she and I to cope with. When we did cut it we sent it to Lock of Love. Yes, it was long enough that it met the required 10inches and she had the cutest little bob afterwards. Now that she's 6 her hair gets cut when she asks about it. My DD loves her hair and is starting to realize she has options such as going curly one day and straight the next. I say keep growing it until combing out the tangles get to be too much for the both of you. Once the labor of love becomes a labor then it's time but until then let it grow. Don't let others determine your DD's hair. Good luck to you.

Afraid I missed the pic, but I am in the don't cut the hair camp! Now that I have found the Tightlycurly.com site, I don't see me ever cutting DD's hair.

I missed it too!!! Darn!!!!!!!!!!!
Our Natalie is biracial - her hair is soft but has a lot of texture and is brown with gold highlights. She's 3.5 and I'm just now considering a trim. I just couldn't bring myself to cut it -- it's so much fun doing different styles every day. I love it most when it's just been washed, I put some Carol's Daughter Hair Milk in it and just let it go. I won't really get her a haircut until she's old enough to decide for herself that she'd like shorter hair. Until then -- I'm having lots of fun styling and bonding.
