Baby Swim Lessons
Our son is AA and I'm going to do parent/child swim lessons with him starting in a couple weeks, but I was wondering if anyone knows of anything I can do to protect his skin/hair from drying out in the chlorined water. I doubt his hair will spend too much time in the water since he's only 8 months old and it's not like he'll be swimming laps in the pool at this point
, but I just don't want his skin and hair to dry out. Does anyone have any tips? ![]()

We did a class similar to that last spring. You're right with the hair, I really didn't worry about it too much, it really didn't get that wet. I just made sure his skin was well moisturized earlier in the day (I didn't want fresh lotion on him, then getting into the pool making it all icky) and after class we just came home and I gave him either a bath or just a quick rinse off in the tub followed by a thick layer of lotion. It did the trick for us, it seems like this winter cold and dry air is worse than the pool was for his skin!

Thanks JenC! Good point too on putting the lotion on earlier in the day.
