Rash Question
Hi, my 3 month old has a rash on her chest and today it seems to be moving to her sides. It is little red bumps and there are a couple of patches of dry feeling bumps as well. I have been keeping some cream on it but it does not seem to be working. Any suggestions on what it might be or what to put on it?? I may have to take her to her doctor, not sure.
Also, we give her a bath about every 3 days and I usually put Aveeno or some of the Lavender smelling lotion on her at night afterwards. I put some Aveeno on her about everyday though. What do you all use on your babies?? I would not think that we are bathing her to often, do you?? Thanks |

If the cream isn't working, I would take her in. Rashes on the chest can mean many things. My DD had Scarlet Fever once! We had no idea! It is an easily treated strep infection, but still, who knew!
Not to scare you, but with a baby that small I wouldn't play with it. |

It might be the lavendar. Both of my kids reacted badly to it, so I just buy the unscented aveeno body wash and unscented aveeno lotion. No, they don't smell yummy but they are rash-free.
And your bathing schedule sounds fine.

I agree with the strep infection too. We had that with our children, more than once and I was shocked. Keep in mind that you don't necessarily have to have a fever, etc. to have this.
But, if that isn't it, it might be eczema? Our youngest has patches on his elbows all around, and behind his knees. I've used everything, including anti-itch cremes suggested by the pediatrician, etc.......by far the best is using an intensive lotion or even vaseline each morning and after his shower. (I know many think Vaseline is awful to use, but it keeps the itching away for him in the best manner, believe me.) Keep us udated. I"m curious to know what it might be too. Eczema came to my mind too. Cameron gets it bad on his forehead and back. We use aquaphor wash, and use aquaphor or Vanicream (get it at the pharamcy, it's AWESOME!) on his skin.

Hi
Thanks Ladies, I have been keeping an eye on it and tonight when we gave her a bath I used just the Aveeno and Aveeno lotion. The 2 patches that are there with the small bumps have become very dry like, almost crusty so I hope it is getting better. She does not seem to be bothered by it like it itches or anything like that. She goes soon for her 4 month check-up but if by the weekend or early next week it is not better I will take her on in.
