Just curious- any reason you didn't just do the National Geographic project?

Family Tree DNA runs the tests for National Geographic. I did not use National Geographic because I am working on my family tree and I wanted the option of being able to find long lost relatives. I did find one relative but I can't connect the dots because the family break occurred during slavery.
I transferred the results to National Geographic and received a migration pattern for the continent of origin and a repeat of the Halpogroup name. The National Georgraphic information wasn't really useful to me. Family Tree DNA gives you a country of origin plus gives you the ability to match your DNA to long lost relatives. So I would look at what Family Tree DNA offers to see if that might meet your needs now or possibly later. |

My DD has a tan color to her skin. When she is around folks that are AA it is obvious that she is AA and at the same time when she is around folks of Asian decent it's obvious she's Asian. She has a TON of hair and it's VERY curly. It's long right now so the weight pulls some of the curls down but when it is short it is very curly. Actually she has hair women pay big money to have.
When she was first born she had the mongolian spots but they seem to have faded unless the rest of her skin color has caught up to the shade of the spots. One of the nurses in the maternity ward pointed them out to me because they do look like bruises. She wanted me to know about them so that when I got home and took her to my own ped then I would be aware and make her doctor aware. Sleeplvr thanks for the DNA testing site. Very interesting. I would like to do this for DD one day. I know for fact that Bmom is AA and Asian but she mentioned NaAm from her own father's side and I would like to know if that is true simply because I feel I owe it to DD to know for sure ALL of her ethnicity.
