Children's books suggestions?

I posted a thread in the General board, where I was looking for suggestions on children's books that have families that were made through adoption, adoption themes, etc.

Does anyone have any suggestions for children's books that have transracial family themes? Gosh. . .I really don't know how to word that!! I guess what we're looking for are books that help instill positive self-images, show people from various races/backgrounds in a positive light, and books that our future children can look at/read and say, "Hey, that's like my family."

Please forgive my awkward description there. I really don't know how to word this properly! Any help you can give us would be greatly appreciated!!

Heart

I responded on your other thread, but will here too. We adopted transracially and really like A Mother for Choco & Rosie's Family, an adoption story.

Here are a few we like:

We are Different, We are the Same (Sesame Street)
Happy Adoption Day
"A" if for Adoption - a bit too religious for our family but still a nice story
On the Day you Were Born
Wherever You are - our 2 year old LOVES this one
Bee Boy Buzz - boys
Happy to be Nappy - girls

LOVE:
Brown Sugar Babies

And then we have a bunch from our children's country of origin:
Go Prince Thabo Go
Bongani's Day
Little Lucky Lolo

Not sure if this helps or you want something more specific?

Child #1: Is that your mother?
Child #2: Yes.
Child #1: Why is she white and you are black?
Child #2: Because I am adopted, and black people have more melanin than white people do.
Child #1: Oh, let's go on the high bars.

I wanted to recommend this book. Although it does not address the transracial issue, it is a very positive self-empowering look at being black. The message is good, the pictures are wonderful, and my two year old loves it.
