I know it is such a longshot, and I should just not even think about it. Our homestudy isn't done, our profile books aren't even in yet, we just have the online one. I got an email from a referral service about a situation, I'm sure 800 other people got it too. I emailed back that we would like to be considered, and she emailed back right away that she is forwarding our online profile and info, and not to worry that our HS isn't done yet, e-mom just wants to consider all loving families. E-mom is due in Sept.

Wow! I didn't think we would be considered for anything yet with our HS not even being done. I'll try to put it out of my mind and not check my email every 5 minutes!

YEAH! I got excited for you when I saw your post. Light a little fire underneath your HS agency and tell them to get a move on I know for us, we always thought we would be matched before birth and have to wait out the pregnancy. BUT, both of our placements were babies already born, and it went much much quicker than what I thought. So, just to warn you that this may be your match, or you may be holding a one, two or even 3 month old by September. Keep us posted!

I got a call today from the referral service. The agency is in the process of getting more info on the e-mom, making sure she is committed to adoption. They did find out it's a girl, so she wanted to make sure we fine with that. I'm not sure when we're actually going to get shown, but I said I definitely don't want to rush, and make sure the e-mom is sure about what she wants to do. So, that's where we're at now.

One thing in adoption that is SURE........you just NEVER KNOW....and that's for certain!!! LOL

I like what Gwen posted: The others don't have the baby dust being blown your way. You do. Keep that in mind, and never think you can plan how these things will go; for surely as you plan, you'll get a phone call and your life will be changed!

We didn't have our homestudy updated at the time of our match in March. We were called and told them we had nothing in place as far as HS goes (this was our 6th adoption but our homestudy was outdated). We made a TON of phone calls and luckily got an update in just a couple days and the rest fell into place within 3 weeks. I am now holding that precious little girl that had us running circles for weeks. She came home on April 2nd. Best of luck

Update - It didn't happen

The e-mom's mother wants her to parent, and she decided to hold off on proceeding any further with an adoption plan. I know it's for the best that she takes the time to consider parenting.

Edit - Just reread that and realized it might come off wrong. Of course she needs to take the time to consider parenting either way. Everything's so touchy on here now, I hope you all know what I mean. If she's not ready to commit to an adoption plan at this time, then it's best that she step away.
