I can tell you that ANY child that was adopted will come with special challenges.
I'm not sure I would put much credit to this study, only because most of the credited ones i have read show that identity issues are there with any adoptee, but most pronounced in transracial adoptions involving ANY other race (hispanic, AA, biracial, etc). But I would have to read it. Plus a LOT of identity issues start at home...with the education of the parents, more so than community itself (though this is important as well). I assure you that adopting a biracial child will come with just as many challenges as adopting an AA child, and you will still have to make those same changes to your lifestyle because the child is still half blackand will STILL need all those same things . Good luck in your decision, it's never an easy one!

IMO---There have been superfluous studies over the years about this issue and I would take them with a grain of salt. The overwhelming truth is that kids need parents, not empty philosophies and vain imaginations. Don't tell yourself lies about what kind of music a teenager will be humiliated by, etc.; life is more rich than music and culture. Kids have real issues like being loved and listened to. You will be the parent, you will direct your kids and parent them, not social workers, poll writers, and the slick variety of pompous academnicians without children.
