I know that this has come up many times before but since we can't post specific agencies it would take me forever to go back thru the old posts and pm everyone. So, I am requesting that anyone has any suggestions of agencies where we can adopt an AA infant for less that $10,000 to please pm me. We have had a rough past few months where 2 placements have already not gone thru. I am determined to find our child but have to work with the budget.

Do you mean agency fees under 10k or total cost? The agency we worked with was about 8k for agency fees and 2k for attorney. However, there were also travel expenses, home study, post placements, etc. Our total was about 14k. Let me know if you would like the name of the agency.

Not sure if you mean before or after the tax credit? Our adoption should cost under 20k then we would apply for the tax credit and get up to 11+ back. Our agency only works out of NC however. If you want their name let me know.

My adoption was a local adoption in Dallas but the total adoption fee was on a sliding scale. For me, it was under $5K and I adopted in 6 months. I didn't have any travel expenses and all my other fees were built into the price. Let me know if you want more info. It is a great agency so I'd love to recommend them if you are interested.

i'm still searching for an adoption situation that will run between 10-12K. i'm in central texas. does anyone have any agency suggestions?

andrea, you suggested your agency to me earlier this summer. i contacted them. now they are eliminating families now. sliding scale will remain but will push up income percentage to 23%. in our situation, that still means an adoption at around 18000!!

Our agency in TX charged $14K for the adoption, and ICPC, living expenses, homestudy etc were extra. We're now home with our 5 week old DD, who's biracial, after a 3 1/2 month wait. If anyone would like more info, you can PM me.
