I just wanted to give everyone another update. Well Wednesday they finally heard from the birth mother. SHe said she knew her husband had sent a letter and they had talked and he was suppose to send another letter changing his mind back. (Both of the letters he sent were a day apart from each other, one was not notarized and the other was). The PBM still wanted to go through with the adoption, she said her husband thought she didn't at the time he sent the letters. She was upset and he was trying to make the situation better. They have since talked and this morning he signed surrenders again. He has 10 starting from tomorrow. If he does not change his mind again, then we will leave here on the 3rd, even though his days are up on the 30th. This will give the agency time, in case he sends a letter at the last minute. The caseworker feels that it was all a big misunderstanding and he thought he was trying to help. She doesn't think he will change his mind again, especially since that it what the PBM wants and her 10 days expired with no change.

SO hopefully this time in a couple weeks I will be holding the baby. If he does change his mind, we are not going to preceed with the adoption or termination of his rights. The agency found out on Tuesday that he is the legal and biological father which means it would be very unlikely that we would be able to terminate his rights even if the birth mother did not want the baby.

Again I am asking for positive thoughts and prayers. The next 10 days can't be any worse the last week, right!! Thanks again for all of your support. I don't think I could have made it through without this forum. It is nice to read other people's stories and see pictures.

I just wanted to thank everyone again for their support and ask that everyone keep their fingers, toes, arms, legs, anything you got crossed this week. The birth dad has until tomorrow at midnight to change his mind. If he doesn't we will be leaving here on Thursday to go and get the baby!

So please pray and keep us in your thoughts, that he won't change his mind and that Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will be really fast!

That is great. I kept checking to see if you posted again. I will be in prayer for you. I am going to go ahead and say for you all to have a safe trip going to get your baby.....How far will you be traveling to. I don't think I remember reading that.....How are you going to be traveling? Did you all buy baby items to take with you all?

Only the best thoughts for you...waiting for the time when revocation is impossible is the hardest part, that's for sure. We learned about each of our children in the space between their births (when their birthmoms had stated they'd be placing their children) and when they could sign relinquishment papers (which, in Louisiana, were irrevocable). Scary days. But each of my children is such a blessing...and I know your chid will be, too.
