I understand what you're saying.. and I know that is a possibility. I do know, however, that her other child is "in the system" ... meaning she was taken from her parents by social services....and when the tribe was notified, they never responded. Her attorney feels that the tribe doesn't care and/or she's not really a registered indian (her mother wasn't on the reservation when she was born, and has her own issues regarding drugs... maybe she didn't register her).

Either way that's good for us. She also has letters from her mother and aunts saying that she can do whatever she wants with the baby and they will support her. From what I know, the tribe normally asks family, and that is her only family.

Anyhow... Thanks for your concern and sharing your story! Only time will tell what will happen, and until then...... we'll just ride out the waves.
