Interracial Couple with AA children?
My fiance and I are looking into forming our family by adopting a child. This is a few years off - we want to be married a little while first! - but we're looking at our options now.
Anyway, I would very much like to adopt AA children (infant or older). I haven't found much information about our particular situation. Are we an AA couple? Would adopting an AA child be a "transracial adoption"? Has anyone here been in an interracial and adopted AA children? ***He thinks this is a wonderful idea and would love to parent a child of any race. |

Hi!
Wonderful you are thinking of adopting! We are not an interacial couple, but my husband was adopted insured of nationality and has olive/tan skin. He likes to say where ever he goes he is. My guess is would not be considered a transracial adoption. Yet, which ever one of you is white may be treated that way when with the kids and without the spouse. Seeing as you 2 will be family, and they are going to have such a positive AA role model in the house, I would not think it to be transracial issues. If you try for an AA child you would have no problem. AA & interracial adoptive parents are in high demand. |
